Project CoastHope is an initiative run by high school students on Long Island, New York. While we strive to make our community a better place in all facets of life, as a group we mainly focus on combatting coastal erosion here on Long Island. Project CoastHope aims to bring light to these issues to citizens and people who are willing to help, but aren't sure how. Unfortunately, the issues we target are widespread not just in the United States, but across the globe. It is our goal to bring a real, noticeable change in how coastal erosion can be prevented, and we can accomplish this with everyone’s help and commitment in our own community here. We hope to inspire others to recognize this problem that is so detrimental to the environment, and to recognize the very land we live on cannot help itself as it breaks and washes away.
